Debut Release by Prodigal Songs!

I’ve been washed in the river of my own misery
For way too long, I’m going to Jordan
Where the saints and the sinners go to drink in liberty
The journey’s long, but I’m going to Jordan
— "Jordan" by Prodigal Songs

We wanted to make you aware of a new project with collaboration by our friend Ausdin Lemmons from the Christian lofi project With The Clouds. If you’re a fan of Christian hip-hop, you’ve got to check out the new music collective, Prodigal Songs!

"Jordan" by Prodigal Songs (feat. K. Paxton, Meech Rhodes) features a bluesy, smooth chorus that sprouts into a laid-back rap groove, reminding believers of the place we can go to be refreshed, encouraged, and strengthened in Christ. If you asked John the Baptist, he might tell you “Going to Jordan” is a metaphor for the process of repentance and restoration.
(See Matt. 3:6!)

While this can be a painful process, a reading of the passage shows us that we find community in radical honesty. This song is both an honest and confident expression of new life in Christ. We have a feeling you might play this on repeat! Make sure to follow Prodigal songs and Risen Music on Instagram to be notified of new releases!
